Most any other tractor of comparable weight to a D15 is going to have a CID advantage over a D15. The only substitute for Cubic inches is manifold pressure & RPM, neither can be used to the best advantage in Grampa gear classes. Putting a D15II engine into a CA or D10 open speed class at 2500 pounds is a fun ride.

ادامه مطلبThis D15 has 7 - 7/16 bolts down left side, and 5 - 1/2 bolts down right side. The goal was to get compression of head gasket even. D15 manual says to do them all to 80 to 85 foot pounds. Somewhere I seem to recall there is another Allis engine with two sizes of head bolts and they had different torque specs.

ادامه مطلبIm doing a few minor repairs on a d15 series 2 for a customer and ran into a snag today. It runs ok, but struggles under load kinda, and runs better with the choke on. Decided to take the carb off and go through it. Looks like someone was recently through it because it's pretty clean. However i cannot get the main jet loose.
ادامه مطلبRuns fantastic. Most powerful D15 diesel I have driven.... No smoke or blowby. They must have done the engine when restoring the cosmetics. Good tires and spin out rims. Bad transmission. Jumps out of 3rd and forth. Power director pulls good but could use adjustment.... Drags to much in neutral.....
